Leveling up your light level in Destiny 2 is all about careful planning. If you’re intelligent about where you select to go, you may take advantage of some powerful strategies to enhance your leveling.

Step 1: Complete the story and have your character to level 20.

Step 2: Talk to everyone at the Traveler/Tower but do not accept the Exotic Engram from Zavala.

Step 3: Grind Public Events and Lost Sectors until you have hit the soft-cap of 265-270.

Step 4: Once you have hit the soft-cap, start doing the milestones which reward you together with “powerful gear”.

Step 5: After you complete a milestone, go and grind some additional public events & lost sectors to further raise your power level.

Step 6: Once you have completed all of the weekly milestones and your power level is no longer increasing, go back to Zavala and accept/decrypt the exotic engram which he offers. This process will even offer a completely new milestone for you to complete (the Nightfall).

Step 7: Once all milestones have been completed, you will then move on to doing the exotic quests which have appeared on each planet. (I recommend which you start together with Nessus and end together with the EDZ)

Step 8: After you have completed the exotic quests, your merely option is to farm additional public events & lost sectors. Once your power level has stopped rising, you have gotten together with the character to the max power level which it may achieve for together with the week. Congratulations! It’s now time to start a completely new character & do the entire process over.

What do I have together with New Light?
If you pick up New Light, and merely New Light, you have access to Destiny 2’s base game and all the Year One content. That means you have Destiny 2 and the Curse of Osiris/Warmind expansions. What you don’t have is the story content together within Forsaken, any of the Year Two season pass’s story, together with Shadowkeep.

On top of which, Bungie has promised which completely new Guardians will even receive some remastered sections from Destiny 1, such as the Cosmodrome. This will allow completely new players to understand why Guardians are vital and create a base understanding for the lore which’s spread throughout Destiny 2. Essentially, it’s a superior jumping off point for those completely completely new to the series.

Even though you don’t have access to the story elements from Year Two, you will still be able to explore the worlds from those expansions as well as the additional content, like strikes, event spaces, and raids.
